
Cathryn Sherman
Cathryn is an actor and singer with West End and television credits.
After training at Mountview Theatre School, Cathryn took a number of stage roles before embarking on a No 1 tour of The Sound of Music where she understudied and went on for Sister Berthe. She then joined Les Miserables in the West End at the Palace Theatre for two and a half years, where she understudied and went on for Mme Thenardier. She also took part in both the 10th and 25th anniversary concerts for Les Miserables. She covered as a vocal booth singer for Starlight Express at the Apollo Victoria for three years and sang backing vocals on Lesley Garrett’s Travelling Light tour. Cathryn recently finished a run of Sondheim’s Road Show at the Union Theatre where she played Mama Meisner to great acclaim.
Other favourite stage roles include Cecily Farr in 84 Charing Cross Road, Lady Anne, Titania and Viola in Shakespeare’s Fools & Horses, Bea in Bloodletting, Helene in A Dolls House and Mother Christmas in a site-specific immersive theatre production for LaplandUK.
On television Cathryn has been seen in three episodes of EastEnders, played Mary Cooper in the drama documentary The Great Plague for Discovery Channel and was Queen Elizabeth I in a Hula Hoops advert. She also played Jimmy’s mum in the feature film For Love, and has completed several voice-overs for Greenwich Council.
