Mark started work as an actor as a founder member of a new writing theatre company, based in Sheffield, with Stephen Daldry as Artistic Director. Mark has worked extensively in theatre: roles include Angelo in Measure for Measure, Angus in Neville’s Island, Trevor in The Changing Room, Horner in The Country Wife, Soranzo in T’is Pity She’s a Whore to name but a few, in rep, the West End and touring.
Mark’s many TV roles include a lot of coppers! In particular, Mark was a regular on Thames TV’s long running series The Bill, where he played Chief Inspector Paul Stritch. Other TV includes Coronation Street, Prime Suspect (Series 1), Drop the Dead Donkey, Seaforth, The Promise, Casualty, Holby City and many others.
Mark has had the honour of being killed on film several times, most memorably by Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies, where Mark played a Bond baddie, Captain Scott, the Stealth Boat Commander and being decapitated, as Jonathon Masbath, by The Headless Horseman in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow.
Mark has extensive experience in corporate role play training, facilitating and coaching, which has honed his improvisational skills, something which he has been able to use to good effect when devising and writing his own theatre projects.
