Richard Ratcliffe

Richard has been an actor for over 50 years, and has worked in everything from weekly rep to national tours and the West End.

He’s also a well-established voiceover artiste for corporate and training videos, has voiced many radio commercials and was part of the BBC Radio Rep. He’s even sung on radio for children.

He’s been in several West End musicals, including Me & My Girl with Gary Wilmot and Some Like it Hot with Tommy Steele.

Tours of musicals include Joseph, The Boyfriend, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Sound of Music, playing Captain von Trapp opposite Bernie Nolan.

He was also in a comedy with The Two Ronnies at the London Palladium and then went on tour with them.

Comedy roles in theatre include Thomas Drunkard in a tour of When Did You Last See Your Trousers?, David Owen MP in Anyone for Dennis?, Heinz in Bedful of Foreigners, and Trevor in Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce. Straight plays include An Inspector Calls, Sense & Sensibility, Then There were None, Macbeth and King Lear.

His TV credits include Bergerac, The Bill, Late Starter (with Peter Barker), Q10 (with Spike Milligan), and several BBC & LWT documentaries. Films include Jenny’s War (with Dyan Canon), Mainline Run and The Man who Walked too Far.
