
Su is an actor, director, dramaturg and workshop leader.
Her acting credits include Babushka in The Cherry Sisters, Aunt Gert in Lost in Yonkers, Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest and Osric in Hamlet. She has toured schools with two pantomimes; Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Red Riding Hood where she played the dame; and as General Maynard and Soldier Boo in the devised piece General’s Playtime. She has also played Hope Springs in John Bunyan’s Birthday, a murder mystery evening, and was Mother Christmas in a site-specific immersive theatre production for Lapland UK.
She has done post-synch dialogue for a Woolworth commercial, a voice-over for a British Rail commercial, and background work for several commercials. She also did walk-on work for The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole for Thames TV, Play for Tomorrow for BBC, and Dempsey & Makepeace for LWT. Costume characters include Baby Bear, Rupert the Bear, Super Ted, Stanley from the Tetley Tea Folk and Brilliant Bassett the red jelly baby.
Directing credits include lots of new writing on the London fringe and at the Brighton Festival, schools tours for Bitesize Theatre Company, several youth productions in this country and America, two children’s shows at the Bread & Roses Theatre, pantomime at the Lyceum Theatre, Crewe, and over 25 plays in rep at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Tivoli Theatre Wimborne and the Manor Pavilion in Sidmouth.
As a dramaturg, she has helped several writers to successfully bring their scripts to the stage, and has also helped to devise many productions, especially for young people.
